About this piece
If you're curious about textile crafts but aren't sure where to begin, this bundle introduces two different ways of creating with needle and thread. Both projects are approachable for beginners, yet each offers a very different creative experience.
1. Learn Hand Embroidery with Spiral Sampler
Instead of practising stitches on plain fabric or in a stitch book, you'll work directly on the printed design, learning 14 essential embroidery stitches as your sampler gradually grows. Jessica Long’s stitch-along video tutorial lets you watch each technique in action whenever you need extra guidance.
2. Explore Felt Appliqué with Wild Hare
Next, explore felt appliqué with Corinne Lapierre's Wild Hare. You'll cut out and layer soft wool-mix felt shapes, stitching them together to build a textured, folk-art hare before adding final embroidered details. The finished hare is mounted inside an embroidery hoop, showing how felt appliqué and embroidery can work together in a single design.
These kits give you a hands-on introduction to both embroidery and felt appliqué. You'll finish with two display-ready hoops, new stitching skills, and a much clearer idea of what you love to make.

Corinne Lapierre, Yorkshire, UK
Corinne Lapierre's story began far from the meadow. After a career in fashion design, she stepped away to raise her three young children — and found her way to felt through, of all things, hat-making. It was love at first sight. In 2009 she started selling felted pieces at craft fairs, and a little make-your-own gingerbread kit one Christmas was such an instant hit that her business was born the following year. Today her kits are still designed and made by a small team in Yorkshire, England, inspired by nature, folk art and traditional textile crafts.
