Although the layout shown in the video differs slightly from the mini version, it uses the same stitches and techniques, so the tutorial remains fully relevant while you stitch.
If you're completely new to embroidery, please note that this tutorial focuses on constructing the design rather than introductory skills such as threading a needle or separating embroidery thread. Those fundamentals are covered in the included Beginner Guide.

A: Mini Catwalk kit is labelled Confident Beginner, or Beginner Plus as Jessica Long describes this level. It’s designed for stitchers who know the basics and are ready for a project with more detail and a little more patience. It works particularly well as a second embroidery project. If this is your first time embroidering, we recommend starting with the Spiral Sampler first, then moving on to Mini Catwalk.
Q: Can I follow the Catwalk video tutorial with the Mini Catwalk?
A: Yes. Mini Catwalk is a smaller section of Jessica Long’s original Catwalk design, which features three cats. The video shows the full three-cat picture, but the section you’re stitching in the Mini Catwalk is taken directly from that design, and the video demonstrates the same stitches and techniques you’ll use.
