Jessica's kits found us while we were learning to embroider ourselves. As we stitched her kits, we realised what made them feel different: colourful without feeling busy, detailed without feeling intimidating, and designed around the experience of making as much as the finished piece.

Jessica originally dreamed of becoming a natural science illustrator, and that fascination with the natural world still shapes every design she creates. Today, every pattern still begins as a pencil sketch before she digitises the artwork, stitches the sample, writes the illustrated instructions, and hand-assembles each kit in her Arizona studio.

We chose Jessica because her kits make beginners feel capable without ever feeling simplistic. Each project introduces a rich variety of stitches, supported by clear instructions, making them exactly the kind of encouraging kits we hope more people discover through Tiny Patio.

Corinne's work is built around helping people feel confident enough to begin making. Soft wool-mix felt, full-size templates and clear instructions remove many of the frustrations beginners often expect, while her distinctive British folk-inspired designs make each finished piece feel genuinely special.

Creativity has always been part of Corinne's life, from sewing tiny outfits for her dolls using her mother's fabric scraps and studying at the École des Beaux-Arts in France, to working as a fashion designer. Later, while learning millinery in West Yorkshire, she discovered the tactile, forgiving nature of felt. In 2009, she created a gingerbread man kit, and the enthusiastic response convinced her that thoughtfully designed kits could be a welcoming introduction to crafting.

We chose Corinne Lapierre’s kits because that practical focus on the maker's experience still shines through today. Her projects feel approachable from the very beginning, letting you focus on the quiet pleasure of making something lovely with your own hands.
