About the artist

Paraffle, Edinburgh, Scotland
Paraffle was founded in Edinburgh in 2016 by Sammy Bishop while she was studying for a PhD. Looking for a creative outlet and a way to make meaningful gifts on a student budget, she taught herself to embroider, reconnecting with her childhood love of sewing. She eventually named her studio Paraffle, an old Scots word that literally means "embroidery".
We first discovered Paraffle through her paisley hare pattern, captivated by how simple yet intricate it was. That single design opened the door to her broader collection of signature pieces, like the paisley whale, puffin, and Highland coo. Today, we're delighted to bring a small corner of Paraffle onto Tiny Patio's quiet shelf, inviting you to explore iconic Scottish wildlife and historic street scenes through detailed Paisley patterns and architectural line art.
